Founders' Day

The 海角乱伦社区, originally known as LaGrange College in nearby Leighton, Alabama, opened its doors to students Jan. 11, 1830. While the name and location may have changed in the intervening 190 years, the goal of educating students has remained the same.

Light The Fountain

Harrison Fountain, the most iconic symbol of the generosity of UNA alumna Laura M. Harrison, has become a signature piece on UNA’s already gorgeous campus. Each year, when the fountain is turned on, students and visitors alike know that warmer weather is on the way. The Big Deal

In 2003, The Big Deal was established as a premier event to welcome students to campus each fall. Originally the centerpiece of Welcome Week, The Big Deal now headlines Mane Month, continuing its tradition of connecting students with campus organizations, departments, and local businesses. With activities, giveaways, and entertainment, the event remains a staple in UNA’s efforts to ensure a strong start to the academic year. Awards Gala

In 2008, the University Awards Gala was established to recognize and honor the success of students, faculty, and staff. The event is sponsored by the Division of Academic Affairs, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Student Government Association.
